Pretty cool article from iA, concerning how browser tabs may have become obsolete.
While replacing the browsing window with an itunes-esque thumbcover layout is all good in theory, the beauty of tabs is that the navigation is always present and doesnt interrupt the browsing experience, I’ve always wondered more about an autohidden navigation interface, that tapped into this method of window organisation…
My pick - in the future we wont have to close tabs, they’ll simply be archived as ‘notsoactive’ webpages, ready for instant recall.
