Time Machine Troubles
So I have this problem where my time machine backup drive will occasionally unmount itself and time machine will just sit there for days on end without backing itself up, until I finally notice and reboot the external drive.
It strikes me as odd that there is no warning dialog , no exclamation icon in the menu bar, nothing. After 12 days or so, sometimes, Time Machine will finally twig onto the fact that it hasn’t run in a while and display an alert, but this is very inconsistent and god forbid that my computer fucks itself in the meantime. Is this problem specific only to my machine - or a pretty widespread issue?
